Biosketch

Dr. Tan Bo Chuan graduated from the National University of Malaysia in 2009 and completed his General Surgery residency with the National Healthcare Group (NHG) Singapore. In 2017, he obtained a fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and was accredited by the Specialist Accreditation Board Singapore in the same year.

In 2019, Dr. Tan was awarded the HMDP at Seoul National University Bundang Hospital to pursue a clinical fellowship in minimally invasive upper gastrointestinal surgery.

Following the completion of his residency, he joined Khoo Teck Puat Hospital as a consultant General and Upper Gastrointestinal surgeon. He quickly rose in seniority, becoming the Head of the Upper Gastrointestinal & Bariatric Surgery Unit in 2023. Concurrently, he progressed to the role of Clinical Director of the Integrated Care for Obesity and Diabetes (ICOD) Centre in 2024.

Dr. Tan has a deep clinical passion for minimally invasive gastrointestinal surgery, covering both oncological and metabolic spectrums. He also specializes in the use of endoscopy for the evaluation of gastrointestinal disorders.
