Biosketch

Professor Uyama received his primary education as a gastrointestinal surgeon at the Department of Surgery at Keio University, where he received his degree. Professor Uyama then explored extended lymph node dissection for gastric cancer at an affiliated hospital.

He then moved to Fujita Health University and started minimally invasive therapy.

He has been devoted to research on laparoscopic lymph node dissection, intracorporeal anastomosis, etc. To further advance MIS, he started robotic surgery, and has devoted himself to the safe dissemination, accumulation of evidence, and insurance coverage of robotic surgery for gastric and esophageal cancer.
