Biosketch
Dr Ang is Senior Consultant of the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, as well as Head Research, at Changi General Hospital, Singapore. He is Clinical Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School and Adjunct Professor at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore and Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Nanyang Technological University. He has subspecialty clinical interests in therapeutic ERCP and interventional EUS and other advanced endoscopic procedures. He has published more than 240 papers, with an H index of 48 with over 8500 citations. His current research interests include the use of image enhancement technologies and artificial intelligence in endoscopy, pancreaticobiliary endoscopy, and the role of gut dysbiosis and changes in systemic metabolome in gastrointestinal diseases. He is Chairperson of the Singapore Gastroenterology Residency Advisory Committee. He is Editor-in-Chief Designate for Singapore Medical Journal and Deputy Editor (Endoscopy) for Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. He is elected Council member and Scribe of Academy of Medicine, Singapore (AMS), Council member Asian Pacific Association of Gastroenterology (APAGE) and Chair of the APAGE Taskforce on Green and Sustainability in Gastroenterology. He previously served as Chief, Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Changi General Hospital, President of the Gastroenterological Society of Singapore, and Chairperson of the Chapter of Gastroenterologists, AMS. Dr Ang is a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore, the Royal College of Physicians Edinburgh, American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and Japan Gastroenterological Endoscopy Society.
